Port of Tampa Container Terminal is served by a 43 feet (13 meters) deep water channel, 1800 feet (550 meters) of berth, three gantry cranes and plenty of room to expand from today's 25 acres (10 hectares) to over 100 acres (40 hectares).
Significant investments in terminal facilities, the acquisition of three gantry cranes, and the addition of Ports America as the port’s new terminal operator have positioned Tampa for growth in the container sector, continuing its diversification beyond its traditional bulk and general cargo business. A rapidly growing market, fueled by an increasing population and expansion of major distribution centers, is providing shippers and shipping lines with heightened business opportunities in Tampa.
